Hello, this is _hiroyuki.ta. This time, I would like to introduce Fujimi Kogen, Yamanashi Prefecture, which I toured by motorcycle from central Tokyo. Fujimi Kogen is a highland resort where you can enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Fuji and the Southern Alps. I arrived there on my beloved Harley-Davidson FLSB Sport Glide, which took about two and a half hours via the Shuto Expressway and the Chuo Expressway. Along the way, I enjoyed the scenery of Lake Kawaguchi and the Fuefuki River. At Fujimi Kogen, I was able to experience nature and gourmet food. A detailed report is provided below.
Fujimi Kogen is a highland resort located in Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture, at an altitude of approximately 1000 meters. In addition to offering magnificent views of Mt. Fuji and the Southern Alps, the area is also attractive with its seasonal flowers and trees. Fujimi Kogen is also known as a fruit and vegetable production area, and you can enjoy gourmet food made with fresh ingredients.
Route to Fujimi Kogen
I toured by motorcycle from central Tokyo to Fujimi Kogen. The route is shown below.
From Tokiwabashi, enter the Metropolitan Expressway Central Loop Line/C1 in Chiyoda Ward.
Take the Metropolitan Expressway Inner Loop Line/C1 to Miyakezaka JCT and transfer to the Metropolitan Expressway No. 4 Shinjuku Line/Route 4.
Take Shuto Expressway No. 4 Shinjuku Line/Route 4 and enter Chuo Expressway.
Drive on the Chuo Expressway and exit at Nirasaki IC.
From Nirasaki IC, arrive at Fujimi Kogen via Shosenkyo Green Line/Prefectural Route 27.
The entire trip was about 160 km and took about 2 and a half hours including breaks. Along the way, I was able to enjoy beautiful views of Lake Kawaguchi and the Fuefuki River. Also, on the Chuo Expressway, we enjoyed the charm of the Harley-Davidson FLSB Sport Glide, which offers comfortable driving performance.
Fujimi Kogen has many natural and gourmet attractions. I especially recommend the following three.
Mt. Fuji Observation Deck: This is an observation deck located at the highest point of Fujimi Plateau. From here, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji and the Southern Alps. The sunsets and sunrises are especially beautiful, and you can enjoy a fantastic atmosphere.
Fujimi Kogen Resort Hananosato: A flower garden located in the center of Fujimi Kogen. From spring to autumn, colorful flowers such as tulips, poppies, and cosmos bloom. Perfect for walking and taking photos.
Fujimi Kogen motorcycle parking lot
Fujimi Kogen does not have a dedicated parking lot for motorcycles, but you can park your motorcycle in the parking lot for general cars. Parking lots are available at each facility in Fujimi Kogen. Parking is often free. However, it can get crowded on weekends and holidays, so we recommend arriving early.
