Hello, this is _hiroyuki.ta. This time, I toured from Tokyo to Wajima in Ishikawa Prefecture on a Harley-Davidson FLSB Sport Glide. Over the course of two days, we visited many attractive touring spots on the Noto Peninsula, so I would like to tell you about it.
Day 1: From Tokyo to Wajima
Departure is at 6am. Drive on the Shuto Expressway and turn onto Chuo Expressway.
This time, I planned a motorcycle trip at a great price using the NEXCO Touring Plan.
I think the appeal of a Harley is that it can be ridden down country roads.
After taking a break at the Suwa service area, I entered the lower road. Enter National Route 158 from National Route 19 and drive while admiring the beautiful mountains and lakes. There are also tourist spots such as Hida Takayama and Shirakawago on the way, but I skipped them this time. I would like to stop by if I have time.
As you enter National Route 470, you will approach the Noto Peninsula. The Noto Peninsula is a region rich in nature facing the Sea of Japan, and is a popular touring spot in Ishikawa Prefecture. The coastal road is scenic and perfect for riding a Harley. In the evening, you can see the sun setting over the sea.
We arrived at Wajima around 6pm. Although it was about 400 km, I didn’t feel tired due to the comfort of the Harley and the beauty of the Noto Peninsula. I stayed at Route Inn Wajima. It’s convenient because you can park your bike here for free. The room was also clean and comfortable. The public bath was a natural hot spring and was very relaxing.
We received the warm hospitality of Wajima and enjoyed delicious seafood, food and sake prepared by a skilled chef.
Day 2: Tour the Noto Peninsula
On the second day, we left at 7am. The first place we headed to was Wajima Morning Market. This market is held every morning and sells fresh seafood, vegetables, and fruits. You can also see specialty Wajima lacquerware and lacquerware. I had seafood bowl for breakfast. The rice topped with plenty of fresh seafood was exquisite.
Next we headed to Shirome Senmaida. This is a terraced rice field built on a slope facing the Sea of Japan, and has been designated as a nationally important cultural landscape. Approximately 2,000 rice fields depict beautiful geometric patterns. season
The colors and expressions change depending on the season, so you’ll want to visit again and again. Riding a Harley is even more impressive as you can feel the wind, sounds, and smells.
If you drive a little further from Shirome Senmaida, you will see a rock called Godzilla Rock. Here, a rock that looks like Godzilla from the movie “Godzilla” stands in the sea. It seems to be often introduced as a stop-off spot on touring plans, so it’s a must-see for Godzilla fans.
Given the image of the work, I thought it would be a gigantic rock since it was called Godzilla Rock, but I personally felt it was 50% smaller than I imagined.
The last destinations we headed to were Mitsukejima and Gunkanjima. Mitsuke Island is a small island at the tip of the Noto Peninsula, connected to the mainland by a bridge. There are lighthouses and shrines on the island, and we recommend taking a stroll. As its name suggests, Gunkanjima is shaped like a warship.
This concludes our touring around the Noto Peninsula. It was about 200km, but all the touring spots in Ishikawa Prefecture were wonderful. The roads along the coast were especially great for riding on a Harley. There are still many attractive places on the Noto Peninsula, so I would like to come back again.
