Kakitagawa Park is a park located in Suruga Ward, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
This park stretches for approximately 1km on both banks of the Kakita River, one of Japan’s three major clear streams, and is known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot.
Approximately 1,000 Yoshino cherry trees bloom every year from late March to early April, attracting many tourists.
Kakitagawa Park is also a park rich in nature, where you can observe wild birds such as kingfishers and ducks.
Route to Kakitagawa Park
It takes about 2 hours from central Tokyo to Kakitagawa Park by expressway.
The starting point is from Tokyo Station’s Yaesu Exit and run along the Tomei Expressway to Shizuoka IC.
From Shizuoka IC, take National Route 1 towards Kakitagawa Park and arrive at Kakitagawa Park in about 30 minutes.
