I rode a motorcycle and went on a tour to Tamagawa Onsen in Yamanashi Prefecture.

This time, we will introduce the charms of Tamagawa Onsen and things to keep in mind when visiting by bike.


What is Tamagawa Onsen?


Tamagawa Onsen is a hot spring located in Kai City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

The source is one of the most alkaline simple hot springs in Japan, with a pH value of 10.5, which is extremely alkaline.

It is said to be effective in recovering from fatigue, beautifying skin, and treating rough skin.

Tamagawa Onsen is also a historic hot spring that has been selected as one of Japan’s top three hot springs.

Route to Tamagawa Onsen

It takes about 2 hours from central Tokyo to Tamagawa Onsen by expressway.

The starting point is from Tokyo Station’s Yaesu Exit and take the Chuo Expressway to Kofu Showa IC.

From Kofu Showa IC, take National Route 20 towards Tamagawa Onsen and arrive at Tamagawa Onsen in about 30 minutes.
