What is Manyo no Sato?

Manyo no Sato is a spot along the Kanna River in the southwestern part of Gunma Prefecture, where there are many monuments of poems written in the Manyoshu. You can fully enjoy the clear waters of the Kannagawa River and the rich nature.

Route to Manyo no Sato

It takes about 2 hours to reach Manyo no Sato from central Tokyo via the Kanetsu Expressway and National Route 299.

The specific route is as follows.

  • From central Tokyo take the Kanetsu Expressway towards Takasaki
  • Get off at Fujioka IC on the Kanetsu Expressway.
  • Take National Route 299 towards Manyo no Sato
  • To Manyo no Sato
