I rode a motorcycle and went on a tour to the Nasu Stained Glass Museum in Tochigi Prefecture.

What is Nasu Stained Glass Museum?

Nasu Stained Glass Museum is an art museum located in Nasu Town, Nasu District, Tochigi Prefecture.

Approximately 200 stained glass windows collected from European churches and mansions from the 18th and 19th centuries are on display.

There is also a stained glass making experience class within the museum, where you can create your own original work.

Route to Nasu Stained Glass Museum

It takes about 2 hours from central Tokyo to the Nasu Stained Glass Museum by expressway.

The starting point is from Tokyo Station’s Yaesu Exit and take the Tohoku Expressway to Nasu IC.

From the Nasu IC, take National Route 461 toward Nasu Town and arrive at the Nasu Stained Glass Museum in about 30 minutes.

The highlight of the Nasu Stained Glass Museum is its beautiful stained glass.

All of the stained glass on display was collected from churches and mansions in Europe, offering a glimpse into its history and culture.

Among them, the 18th century Virgin and Child with Saint Anne is an impressive work with its delicate and beautiful design.

There is also a stained glass making experience class within the museum where you can create your own original work.

At the trial class, you can learn the basics of making stained glass, such as glass cutting and soldering.

Motorcycle parking lot at Nasu Stained Glass Museum

The parking lot is located in front of the museum and can accommodate approximately 50 cars.

Please follow the instructions of the security guard when parking.

Parking fee is free.

The Nasu Stained Glass Museum is also a recommended spot for motorcycle touring.
