Hakone Skyline in Shizuoka Prefecture is a toll road that connects Kamiyama in Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture to Sengokuhara in Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture. The total length is approximately 18 kilometers, and there are observation decks, rest houses, hot spring facilities, etc. along the way. Hakone Skyline in Shizuoka Prefecture has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 Famous Roads, as well as among Japan’s 100 Best Roads and Japan’s 100 Best Night Views. Hakone Skyline in Shizuoka Prefecture not only allows you to enjoy nature throughout the four seasons, but also offers spectacular views of Mt. Fuji, Lake Ashi, Suruga Bay, and more.

Route to Hakone Skyline, Shizuoka Prefecture

The route from central Tokyo to Hakone Skyline in Shizuoka Prefecture is as follows.

  • From Chuo Ward, take the Metropolitan Expressway Inner Loop Line/C1 and head toward Tomei Expressway/Yokohama/Shibuya/Haneda/Yokohama Park/E1.
  • Take Shuto Expressway No. 3 Shibuya Line/Route 3 and head towards Tomei Expressway.
  • Drive on the Tomei Expressway and get off at Gotemba IC
  • Drive along Prefectural Route 401 and enter Hakone Skyline, Shizuoka Prefecture from Kamiyama.

This route takes approximately two and a half hours (approximately 130 kilometers). There are service areas and parking areas along the way, so don’t forget to take a break and refuel.

Fujimigaoka Park

Fujimigaoka Park, located on the Kamiyama side of Hakone Skyline in Shizuoka Prefecture, is a place where you can see Mt. Fuji as its name suggests. From the Mt. Fuji Observation Deck, you can see not only Mt. Fuji but also Lake Ashi and Suruga Bay. The Mt. Fuji Observation Deck also has a rest house and a souvenir shop, so it’s a great place to take a break. It’s close to the entrance to Hakone Skyline, so we recommend stopping by first.

Motorcycle parking lot in Hakone Skyline, Shizuoka Prefecture

Fujimigaoka Park Motorcycle Parking Lot

Fujimigaoka Park Motorcycle Parking Lot is a motorcycle parking lot located near the Mt. Fuji Observation Deck. The Mt. Fuji Observation Deck motorcycle parking lot is available free of charge. The Mt. Fuji Observation Deck motorcycle parking lot has space for approximately 20 vehicles.

Hakone Ashinoko Observatory Park Motorcycle Parking Lot

The motorcycle parking lot at Hakone Lake Ashi Observation Park is located near the observation deck overlooking Lake Ashi. The parking lot is free and has space for approximately 30 cars.
