This time, I would like to introduce a motorcycle trip to Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane in Gunma Prefecture.
Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane is an active volcano and famous as one of Japan’s leading hot spring resorts.
This time, I toured to Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane on a Harley Sports Glide (FLSB).
What is Mt. Kusatsu Shirane?
Kusatsu Shirane is an active volcano that straddles Gunma and Nagano prefectures.
The altitude is 2,172m at the summit of Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane, and 2,057m at the summit of Mt. Shirane, Kusatsu-Shirane.
Volcanic activity is active, and an eruption occurred in 2009.
Kusatsu Shiraneyama is also famous as one of Japan’s leading hot spring areas.

The route from central Tokyo to Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane is as follows.
- Take the Shuto Expressway Central Loop Line, Outer Ring Road, Kanetsu Expressway, and Joshinetsu Expressway and get off at Kusatsu IC.
- Go north on National Route 292 and park at Kusatsu-Shirane View Spot.
