Hello, this is _hiroyuki.ta. This time, I went on a motorcycle tour to Miyata Kogen Campsite in Nagano Prefecture.
Nagano Prefecture is the perfect place for camping tours.
There are many things to see, such as highlands and mountains rich in nature, and delicious local products. My favorite car is a Harley-Davidson FLSB Sport Glide. We arrived at our destination in about 4 hours from central Tokyo. This time, I would like to report on the situation.
From departure to Miyata Kogen campsite
I started from near Nihonbashi in central Tokyo. I took Shuto Expressway Route 6 and entered the Shuto Expressway Inner Loop Line from Edobashi JCT. At Miyakezaka JCT, I transferred to Shuto Expressway No. 4 Shinjuku Line and entered the Chuo Expressway. Although the Chuo Expressway is a smooth road, you may get stuck in traffic jams, so we recommend checking traffic information in advance. Luckily I was able to run smoothly.
After driving about 200 kilometers on the Chuo Expressway, I got off at Komagane IC. This is where the real pleasure of camping touring in Nagano Prefecture begins. I drove on Prefectural Route 75 and entered the Ina Chubu Regional Farm Road. You can ride this farm road while looking at Mt. Kisokomagatake and the mountain range of the Central Alps. The air is fresh and feels good.
As you drive along the farm road, you will see a signboard for Miyata Kogen Campsite. Using this sign as a landmark, turn west (towards the mountain). Then, you will find the entrance to a forest road called the Rindo Terazawa Line. From here on, it’s a straight road, but the road is narrow and has many curves, so be careful. When passing an oncoming vehicle, please use the waiting area and yield to each other. There may be falling rocks and pieces of wood, so please drive slowly and safely.
Miyata Kogen Campsite
After climbing the forest road for about 12 kilometers, you will arrive at Miyata Kogen Campsite. This campsite is located at an altitude of 1650 meters. The surrounding area is a 360 degree view of nature. From the observation deck, you can see spectacular views of the Central Alps and Southern Alps. You can also look at the starry sky at night.
Miyata Kogen Campsite has log cabins and tent sites that are compatible with auto camping. I used an auto campsite. The price is 2,500 yen for one plot (8m x 5m). The tent site is grassy and comfortable. There is also electricity and water. The administration building, kitchen, shower rooms, and toilets are also in good condition. Recommended for outdoor beginners and families.
Campsite reservations can be made by phone. Reservations are accepted until one week in advance. Please note that cancellation fees will be charged from 5 days in advance. Also, all trash will be taken home, so please bring your own trash bags. Pets are allowed, but pets that are a nuisance to others or that are not well-behaved are prohibited.
How to enjoy camping touring
At Miyata Kogen Campsite, you can enjoy nature and the extraordinary. I’ve been touring by bike, but you can also enjoy cycling or hiking. The campsite also has experience facilities such as barbecue, fishing, and astronomical observation. There are also activities nearby, such as a farm, athletics, and firefly and insect catching.
I had a barbecue at the campsite. I’m looking forward to eating special products from Nagano Prefecture. Nagano Prefecture has a variety of delicious foods such as apples, oyaki, and nozawana, as well as grapes, peaches, and Shinshu soba. About motorcycle parking lot
There is a motorcycle parking lot at Miyata Kogen Campground. Also, please be careful as the forest road has many curves and visibility is poor. Motorcycle parking is free, but reservations are not required. Please check with the administrator for availability.
