Dodaira Sky Park is a facility where you can learn and experience paragliding, and it is a place where you can enjoy a wonderful view from the top of the plateau.
This time, I set out on my beloved Harley-Davidson FLSB Sport Glide from a friend’s house in Ageo City, Saitama Prefecture, and arrived at Tokigawa Town via National Route 17, the Ken-O Expressway, and the Kanetsu Expressway. It was about an hour and a half touring, but I ran comfortably while taking breaks along the way. This time, I would like to share my experiences and impressions at Dodaira Sky Park.
Dodaira Sky Park is a paragliding school that opened in 1990. Paragliding is a sport that involves gliding through the air using a parachute-like cloth. Dodaira Sky Park offers a variety of courses and plans for everyone from beginners to advanced skiers.
I participated in the trial course this time. Advance reservations are required, so if you are interested, please check the reservation site.
At Dodaira Sky Park, you can enjoy not only paragliding but also other things by using nearby facilities.
Enjoy nature at a campsite or bungalow
Enjoy delicious meals at the BBQ or pizza oven

Take photos at the observation deck and lawn area

I was there for touring this time, so I didn’t use the facilities.

Dodaira Sky Park is recommended as a touring spot in Saitama Prefecture.
The view from the paraglider was overwhelming. The feeling of flying freely through the air was an unforgettable experience. It was my first time paragliding, but thanks to the instructor’s careful instruction, I was able to enjoy it with confidence.
I went on a sunny day, but I think you can enjoy different views depending on the season and time of day. In addition, there are various facilities and activities other than paragliding, so you can spend a whole day without getting bored. I think it’s a spot that anyone can enjoy, including family, friends, and couples.
Access and parking to Dodaira Sky Park
Dodaira Sky Park can be accessed by car or motorcycle in about 20 minutes from the Sakado Nishi Smart IC on the Kanetsu Expressway via Prefectural Route 171 or Prefectural Route 172. If you use public transportation, it is approximately 30 minutes by bus from Sakado Station on the JR Tobu Tojo Line. Please refer to the official website for details.
The parking lot can accommodate 100 regular cars and 10 large buses. Parking is free. However, admission may be restricted during busy times. In that case, we recommend using a route bus from Sakado Station. There is no dedicated parking lot for motorcycles, but you can park your bike in the parking lot for regular cars. However, be careful not to take up the space of one car.
